Leslie Jones was born in Boston in 1886, and developed an interest in photography from an early age. While working in a factory, he made extra cash doing freelance camera work on the side.
After losing two fingers in a machinery accident, he decided to focus on photography full-time, joining the Boston Herald-Traveler as a staff photographer in 1917.
For 39 years, he dashed around Boston and surrounding towns with his 4x5 camera, capturing lively images of sports, crime, animals and architecture.
One of the areas in which he was most prolific was the documentation of car accidents. In the 1930s, he rushed to the scenes of hundreds of fender-benders, pileups and crashes, and captured the aftermaths in photos that ranged from morbid and tragic to bizarre and comical.

Leslie Jones nacio en Boston en 1986, y desde una edad temprana mostro intres en la fotografía. Mientras trabajaba en la industria, gano dinero extra trabajando por su cuenta como fotógrafo freelance. Tras perder dos dedos en un accidente laboral, decidio centrarse por completo en la fotografía, y en 1917 se unio a la plantilla del Boston Herald-Traveller como fotógrafo.
Durante 39 años se movio por Boston y las ciudades de los alrededores con su camara de formato 4x5, capturando briilantes imagenes de deportes, delincuencia, animales y arquitectura.
Una de las disciplinas en las que fue mas prolifico fue documentar accidentes de vehiculos. En los años 30, se apresuraba hasta el escenario de cientos de pequeños golpes, accidentes en cadena y golpes, y capturaba las secuelas en fotos que cubrian desde el morbo y la tragedia hasta lo insolito y cómico.

Chris Dorley-Brown + "Drivers in the 1980's"

Chris Dorley-Brown spent two summers in the mid 1980s photographing drivers stuck in traffic jams in and around East London. This series was his first on colour film and was created when he intended to document the privitisation of Rolls Royce but instead became fascinated by the faces in the traffic caused by the sell-off in the city. The cars, colours, haircuts and expressions of frustration capture the mood and tone of a unique era in Thatcher's Britain.

The images, all shot on film of course, have aged like a fine wine and are now ready to be consumed by the discerning connoisseur.
